I would agree/insist on Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter and while you are at it try their Oatmeal Stout.

first Lighthouse-'Dark Chocolate Porter' , next will be Rogue-'Mocha Porter'

If you have a Minnesota connection, consider Olvalde Farm - Ode To A Russian Shipwright. It is brewed with spruce tips & rye, which makes for a unique porter/stout (unique in a very good way).

Love Troegs. Love Dead Reckoning. But this is barely a porter. So hoppy. Black IPA is more like it.
