Grow Brewing’s BA Cherry Brandy Barleywine Dormancy.

Strong cherry and slight caramel on the nose. Taste is that, with a load of strong booziness and barrel tannins. A gritty chocolate malt presence finds its way in, which I’d prefer it did not. It’s another of those barleywine-meets-stout vibe profiles. I like those, but the cherry in this seems like a third wheel.

 

Oh, the heathens have this debate every so often. Beans are mandatory. Two or three kinds, even better.

Things might've ended there, but they've still got pFriem's BA Imperial Chocolate Stout on, so that's happening now.

I'm thinking that when I eventually cross the street to Safeway, I'll be stumbling down it's aisles kinda drunk.
In the meantime, I'm nursing that bad boy and watching the 'Zags vs Loyola Marymount, who seem to now be employing Lorenzo Romar as an assistant. That guy's got 9 lives.

 

Same brewery (State Of Brewing, purchased at Aldi). This is a lot better than their pumpkin beer.

2025 starting with a thud. My wife was notified her contract for Dental Hygiene was terminated as Job Corps has decided they will no longer provide Dental Care to their students. She is too beat up/old to go back to private practice as a Hygienist. I told her to take her time & figure something out. About 18 months until she can draw social security. This was our fun money, so we just have to be more prudent about money choices. Probably less beers like this...

Had a rousing day that started at the movies watching Moana 2. Actually pretty good movie for the kids. Then hit Meijer & Walmart checking out what's left of the Christmas clearance. Got some advent calendars for the kids next year. Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Now beer time while watching Michigan basketball. Will flip to the football game after Michigan wins! Go Blue!!

Starting with a Special Double Cream Stout from Bells. Standard drinkable stout - roasty and not heavy. Could put down the entire sixer tonight .
