    Okay, I'll start the new Lager Love thread... because they deserve attention.

    One last hurrah before the annual Dry January. I didn't get any of this for the holiday tasting thread because I was (am still) slowing down my consumption into the new year (the holidays are hell on the waistline -- with or without beer).

    But the HB Delicator (once Winter Spezial) is still available around me, so I popped because it's one of my all-time favorites.

    @zid -- I wasn't sure I agreed with your side-by review of the HB and the TJ's Winter Ride because I always remember the big ABV on the HB and thought it was more alcohol-hot than the WR -- and it may still be, but the rich, pumpernickel maltiness of the HB puts it head and shoulders over the WR -- as your review pointed out.

    If we ever see Optimator in our area again, I'd like to do a side-by with the HB because Optimator has always been a go-to.

    Anyway, here's to Lovin' Lagers!

    The store I got the HB Oktoberfestbier from doesnt carry the Delicator so I never got to try it. You'd think since they carry the fall seasonal they'd also have the winter seasonal but thats never how it works.

    Huh. My store carries all the HB labels -- seasonal and year-round.

    No other places in RI carrying the brand?

    Nope, no Delicator around here that I know of. Maybe some random stores in Mass. have it. No idea.

    Well, I just wondered if HB was carried in general, not specifically the Delicator.

    Its carried in general. Stores have the Original, Hefeweizen, Dunkel, Oktoberfestbier. Not sure about the Maibock. Definitely no Delicator for some reason.

    Drinking a nice doppelbock right now from a local brewery Brass Collar Brewing. It's called Chasing Moonbeams - nice rich malt flavor but not overly sweet.

    It’s glass. Just got it for Christmas from my brother in law. It’s got like a Das Boot air / bubble release thing going on when I take too violent of a swig lol.

    Enjoying a nicely brewed Schwarzbier from Dssolvr in Asheville. Getting toasted malt notes with a touch of coffee and chocolate. Finish is well balanced. Lots of flavor in the 5.5 abv package, will buy again.

    Skiesta, Snowed In Winter Warmer, Powder Day IPA, and Torpedo Cyro were in a "Cool Pack" case that i would guess was a regional Costco exclusive (i purchased mine in Spartanburg, SC). I know VABA had it and i believe it was available in Georgia as well. PA Advocates reported NOT seeing it.
