All I know is it was long enough ago that I can't reliably say it's ever been any better.

A few yrs ago one of our triad of outdoor friends, did the bike race up Mt Washington.
We set out 2 hrs ahead of his start time.
Chugged up Huntington ravine from Joe Dodge.
Met him at the second to last bend. Didn’t see him suffer the last incline, but carried a beer for his celebration.

I used to bike a decent bit just for cross-training and know a couple folks that have done the bike race up.

I think that would be infinitely more difficult and tantamount to torture! Sickos haha.

I actually challenged a friend to race me running vs him on bike some summer night when the auto road is closed. Glad he never took me up on that.

EDIT: oh and he had to give me a ride down on the handlebars haha
