Silva Stout & Sleepin’ with Shaggy Release Party

Anyone have insight as to why they kept Shaggy in barrels for 4 years? Seems like a very long time.

I had it last year at the SDBW Silva Stout release and thought it was awesome, so I'm looking forward to trying it again.

 

Shame this beer is release party only. Would love to get my hands on one.

 

In response to asking about bottle purchase post release event:

"Due to the limited quantity available, we are not planning to release the bottles after the event. We plan to assess the remaining quantity after the event and we may do some small events later in the year, but nothing is planned as of yet. For now - the only way to secure a bottle would be to attend the event."

This = sad panda bummer about having to work that day!

 

Anyone know what size bottles they are? 22 or 12 or 750ml?

Question for people who have already bought tickets:

What form do the tickets come in? I would like to buy tickets for a friend who lives in SD, but I need to know if I can buy them for her or if I have to give her money to buy them herself.

 

They have the name of the person who bought them on the ticket but I don't know if they are transferable.

A special bottle release is planned for the Tasting Room in San Diego on Jan 28th. It is not being bottled to distribute. It will be (on rare occasion) served on draft at special events both in and out of San Diego. If you are able to make it to the event in San Diego – tickets are available via EventBrite right now, but are almost sold out!

So how was the party? How does the new Silva Stout compare the the last batch? How was Reepin with Raggy?

 

I thought Silva is as good as the first release and Shaggy is awesome stuff. Food was no more than a snack, which I'm sure frustrated everyone there.

 

the food part was crap...everything else was great, especially finding out that more beer was available to purchase than originally advertised.

~65 for the first 4-pack, 20 for each additional

 

really??? damnit, this was one of the main reasons I passed. Now that I know there were extras...ISO: Silva and Shaggy

 

Yes, I think we all agree that it was much more worth going with the additional 4 packs that were available for purchase.

 

What I am I missing with Shaggy? I thought it was average at best. So blah I only bought half my allocation. ( already promised some to traders )

Silva I found nothing special either.

Am I the only one underwhelmed?

All I have been drinking the past week is BCBS, Black Note, and BBPt5. Silva I found very thin and lacking in depth compared to the others I mentioned.
