For the record, the word "pierogi" is plural. There's no reason to make it "pierogies". (The singular is "pieróg", but is rarely used since they're never served singly.)

That being said, I live in the Polish Triangle of Boston, and we've got a great Polish restaurant here with a nice selection of Eastern European beers. One of these days I'll organize yet another BA outing there...

Ha! That's the Americanized spelling. I kid. Sort of ... there's 661,000+ indexed pages for "Pierogies" in Google. Gods bless America and Google.

    Thanks for the correction.

I am already subscribed and BA has some great articles and unique reviews but there are so many ads. Wish the latter would change. It would make reading much more enjoyable.

It's a magazine, obviously. Ads are required to thrive. If we wanted to add more content, we'd need to sell more ads to cover the extra pages and all of the associated costs: printing, shipping (more weight) and freelance contributor fees. Oh, and we just added 8 pages to the mag last year.

Basically, less ads would equal less content.

Side-note: We're also monthly, whereas all other beer mags are bi-monthly or quarterly. We're dishing out a TON of content every year as a result. In many cases, we also view ads as content ... but that's a whole other conversation over beers.

Brawley's bottle shop is located in Charlotte, NORTH CAROLINA (not SC, at it's printed in this months mag). Going to swing by and have my man Brawley autograph it for me

We know. :astonished: We've addressed the typo in issue #73's Errata.

I found it interesting in reading the Beer Reviews section, a couple of the beers were listed with styles that are not on the website. For example, Batch No. 63118 is listed as a "Pre-Prohibition Lager" (website lists German Pilsener) and Drake's Black Robusto Porter is listed as a "Robust Porter" (website lists as American Porter). Are there any plans to try and make sure the magazine styles match the ones used on the website?

This is common and has occurred since the inception of the mag. We'll often list more specific descriptions of the styles when given by the brewer; many of which are simply sub-styles of a an existing one.

Any thought of also listing the style from the website (perhaps in parenthesis) next to the more specific style?

I often read the magazine when traveling (and not having access to the internet), I would not have known a Pre-Prohibition Lager was a sub-style of German Pilsener.

I think it could be helpful to further educate readers on the sub-styles and also help us better quantify what the brewers might call the style they are aiming for vs. how it would be classified it we were to add it to the site.

Is there anyway to get the recipes online? I have a subscription and planned on making the pierogi tomorrow for a beer get together at my house, but someone snagged my magazine at work. Thanks!

You realize that we pay $15/year for one hell of a monthly instead of $25+ because of ads that typically come in handy, right?

I had the same problem and all I got was I had to buy another one in their store...

That's pretty awful in my opinion...we should be able to get the recipes or the digital copy if we can prove we have a subscription.

Awful? How so? You pay for the print version (for an extremely reasonable price) and get the print version. If someone misplaces their copy, they can always buy another single copy; print or digital via Google Play.

Speaking of digital, the version via Google Play is a completely separate product, offered by a separate company. We can't sync the two; as in the option doesn't exist.

If there were no ads, it would be a hell of a lot more than $25.

I ended up making bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos and a cheese tray. I would easily buy another copy, but I live in England and it isn't an option. Luckily for me, the magazine was returned to me a couple weeks later. A coworker took it home with his magazines and didn't realize it until he was cleaning up.

I agree with Todd, the magazine is amazing for what we pay. There are more expensive magazines that don't provide as good as content or come out monthly.

Made the buffalo wing perogi for our yearly Mardi Gras party. Very good!
