Neither one is ideal, but I’d choose Beck’s over Heinie anytime.

Neither Heineken or Becks is my 'cup of tea'.

I found it interesting that Pabst Blue Ribbon is rated higher (69) than these two beers on BA.

    Cheers!

If they are both fresh and not light-struck, it's a toss up for me, with a slight lean towards Heinie if I have to pick one

I just discovered that I haven't rated either of these. I may have to pick up a couple of singles. For science.

I'd just save some money and get High Life if these were the two "premium" options available.

Long answer: bias on this site against macro beers and light-flavored beers. (Except by those sweaty BAers who drink them so fast to cool down.)

BAs that know that they're going to do something requiring a "cool down" think ahead and purchase and chill their favorite Koelsch, Helles, Pilsner, or US or Mexican macro in advance. I can't think of a singular instance where I finished cutting the grass or after a fishing trip and thought "Man, I hope they have Beck's cold at the store."

See, this is why God made water and limes and gave man the capacity to invent tonic and gin.

I find that I like them equally but I'd run out of Beck's first.

On tap, I'll take Beck's. It's a passable German pils in that state. That said, I've only run into on tap a handful of times in my life. Bottles of it always seem to be lightstruck, while a lot of the recent Heineken bottles I've had weren't. Therefore I lean in the Heinie direction for bottles.

Somewhat related, I think Heineken Dark is pretty damn good and 0.0 is a godsend. Beck's Dark and their N/A = pretty middle of the road.

US distributed Beck's is still brewed IN the US, right?
