Yeah, Chet is always good go to for just kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying a beer. That's damn shame about Equal Parts. There is no need to muck up a good quality Dunkel with adjuncts. Good grief! I'll never understand why more beer drinkers don't enjoy Dunkel. People are really missing out on a really drinkable dark beer. I don't know if they are expecting a Stout experience and get disappointed or they just think all dark beer needs be a BBA experience. Oh well, what can one do. Cheers!

    1) Hop Butcher Cosmic Glow (8.0% canned 11/5/2024): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Rakau, Waimea and Mosaic for flavors of orange, tangerine, apricot skins, tropical melon, and mango
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Orange Moss (7.5%): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Simcoe, and Tangier for flavors of orange, bright tangerine and flower with hints of tropical peach and strawberries. (Mismatched the two blind)

Hop Butcher NEIPA Battle. First is Cosmic Glow. Fantastic and complex flavors from Rakau and Waimea. Standing up well. This is one of my favorites from Hop Butcher.
Next is Orange Moss. A bit more peach, strawberry, tangerine. Still nice, but not quite my flavor forte, but still good. Hop Butcher IPAs seem to ignore freshness dates. Cosmic Glow is still amazing me.
    Winner: Hop Butcher Cosmic Glow

Foam on this looked better right off the bat, but I opened my phone and it wanted to update. Minutes later, I could drink my beer. Held off so you could enjoy beer ****.

Funny thing @ZlaVydra, I've seen Piedmont Brewing beers in a few more stores lately, the Satisfied Lager in particular, and have been considering giving it a shot. The head retention looks a little lacking on that one, but that's typical of an American style lager, right. Nice clarity on it. That could be good choice for after yard work on a Saturday in July. Cheers bro!

Off Square Old Skool West Coast IPA (Cascade/Centennial). Lives up to the name. Bready, biscuity, slight caramel malt backbone with grapefruit flesh and peel, floral, and resinous pine from the hops. Solid.

Speaking of Equal Parts, their Pale Ale, Cascade Classic. Which is excellent.

Oh, and a Herbie Hancock classic...Maiden Voyage...hopefully I don't have to say any more about this masterpiece :sunglasses:

Still waiting and simmering that bolognese so don't mind if ai have a second HA Slow Melt.

8.5 mile COLD AF run earlier with the usual uphill stride stuff. Tired of this repeated set of cold snaps but it is what it is.... warm up later this week is gonna be great.

    Along with an appropriate tune...

    Cheers...

@ATL6245 Great post. That is one of my all-time favorites and possibly the most underrated breweries from Chicago.

Off Square Hopcho Man Salvo Savage Hazy IPA (Citra, Mosaic, HBC-1019). Spritzy tangerine, ripe clementine, orange peel, blueberry, underripe mango, some pineapple, apricot, ruby red grapefruit flesh and peel. Soft feel, dry, and dangerously drinkable. Pleasantly surprised with this one.

50 years ago I got off active duty from the USS Denver today and this was a hit on the radio when FM was becoming a thing for rock'n roll. I had a converter in my '67 'Cuda, San Diego in my rearview window, a lid and a bag of white crosses gonna set the world fire! In Dallas, lasted a week before I went back home...

Spent a bit more time pouring this one properly. Never heard of that beer @Roguer but it reminds me that the great late Warren Zevon has yet again been overlooked for a place in the rock and roll hall of fame.

Awesome! It's the only beer I've had from them but it's excellent. This is how I like Saison. It shows up from time to time at my local bottle shop. Glad I gave it a run! Cheers!
