I don't think Spaten Oktoberfest is available year round in US--its probably gone by this time as thecommish101831 noted--its around in September and most likely done by November. It's listed on this site as Year Round but i don't think its available year round.

That corner of the country may be one of the few places that has Spaten Okto year-round. I spoke with the Spaten USA guys a few years ago and they told me that some of the Atlantic states have it available all the time.

Find out who the local distro is and see where it may be available.

I'm under the impression that Spaten, Paulaner, and Hacher brew their O'fests year round, but the US importers only take them seasonally, for the most part.

I think this is correct. It's a year round brewed beer that isn't necessarily available year round. My local beer shop has a nice German section and no Oktoberfest in the Spaten area. Just happened to be browsing today. Before this thread I would have assumed any Oktoberfest would be only seasonal but nice to learn something (even if it doesn't help the OP's friend)

It seems like H-P and Paulaner switch up now and again as to whose is available year-round, but the U.S. only picks them up seasonally because they really don't sell. I've seen cases of Okto (of any brand) die on store floors after October 31.

Talking with the Spaten USA guys, they say that they brew the Okto year-round, but the largest quantity is brewed specifically for the Autumn season.
