The watering hole by me sells nachos that are so large that to-go orders are put in a birthday cake carrier. I like to make my own, because it's simple - just chips, cheese and meat - served alongside my favorite BBQ sauce ever (found it the other day while grocery shopping).

65 today, 74 tomorrow, maybe a tornado tomorrow night and a snowstorm possible next week, so the Sheps and I are enjoying this beautiful weather while we can. It's March madness around these parts of Minnesota.

Okay, last one for a while. I swear I'm going to stop for a little while. And also lay off the junk food. Get a grip on it.

So these are from last night. Tuesday night, my mom calls me, wanting to go out on Wednesday. Things are still kind of difficult, will take some getting used to, and it does well to get out of the house. Problem was being halfway deep into that 15.5% strong ale right then. But we ended up at the local, which also begs the question of being recognized by the same bartender you saw a week prior.

DDH Glitch in the Machine 2 - 10% Triple New England IPA - Double Dry Hopped Triple New England Style IPA hopped with Citra, Galaxy, and Motueka hops. A soft, hazy, and thick juice bomb with notes of citrus, orange, and dank pineapple.

I, uhh, get the feeling that a good IPA is usually (not always) one that takes me a bit to finish. It's that bitter backbone or something. Still don't know how to judge IPAs.

Affogato - 13% Pastry Stout - Imperial pastry stout with Devoción Toro coffee beans, Wao Kele Farm Ecuadorian Vanilla Beans, and milk sugar

One of the upsides of making a quick return is getting to have seconds. I had this one sometime last fall. Was thinking that coffee and vanilla are such common additives that it's hard to even think of them adjuncts. In this case, it's even advertised as a pastry stout when my brain wants to think of it as a regular stout. It's delicious: smooth, pleasing on the coffee and vanilla. It's because it suits my tastes so much that it's almost cheating.

Cherry Avenue - 6.5% Fruited Kettle Sour - Our limited-edition Berliner-style Weisse is conditioned on dark sweet cherry puree, @sugarbushcreekfarm maple syrup, and vanilla beans, delivering a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness

Had this before too, almost two years ago. Again, is it cheating to recommend a fruited sour? Clearly cherry without being cough syrup, good balance with the vanilla, and the maple syrup... I keep debating if it's a necessary addition, but it does add a different flavor that isn't unpleasant and kind of contrasts with the former. It ends up being neck and neck with the stout, which is no easy feat (stout representing!).

Gonna need something fun to look forward to - no upcoming plans at all. Not even any new music hitting.

Nope don't agree at all. Love band on the run and totally disagree those two albums being as good as anything the Beatles have done. It's like saying we would have corned beef even if we never had brisket. Music evolves from its roots. I respect your opinion but I truly get tired of people saying the Beatles sucked or weren't an influence. Place and time, history are all things that affect the final product and they were very influential along with the Beach Boys and Stones in that respect. I learned to play the drums, guitar and sing from many of the Beatles tunes. Cheers though!

A buddy was up in Vermont this past weekend and he came home bearing Alchemist gifts. Four different Alchemist beers in the fridge right now. I've had worse problems. Enjoying this British Style Imperial Stout, Luscious. Which, coincidentally, they tell me was @TCgenny 's nickname in high school. Who'd have thunk it? Cheers!
