Best breweries per capita? Vermont has the quantity per capita, but that wasn't the question.

As of last month the state only had 23, Denver has that within city limits, which has a smaller population.

How anybody can omit Colorado from at least the top 3 is beyond me, even my bias opinion aside.

I believe he was referring to Greg Noonan's series of brewing-by-style manuals that were first published in the 80's - he was the (late) owner of VT Pub & Brewery in Burlington, VT.

Vermont is middle of the road. Three good beers you can't find anywhere and Otter Creek and Long Trail. McNeills is tiny and the bottles are undrinkable. Rock Art is not good, Magic Hat is awful- Harpoon is mainstream, Trapp is nice but would never dream of buying it in a bottle, Bobcat- never been to or seen, from what heard the Vermont Pub and Brewery has been long passed by (has McNeills has) and I don't even know what Zero Gravity is.

Wisconsin really wasn't on this topic very much, sure they arent all AWESOME, but they are pretty good breweries.

    New Glarus
    Lakefront
    Central Waters
    Osos
Sprecher (i only like their trippel abbey)
    Capital
    Ale Asylum
    Futhermore
    Lake Louie
    MKE Brewing
    Tyranena

and about 15 other breweries that I hate.

Totally agree we have awesome brewery's but a lot of them are either local or regional distro so we don't get nearly as much love as some other states/brewerys.

Having just seen this thread, and without scrolling through the previous 3 pages of responses, and withstanding the pressure of Texas pride, there is only one answer....California.
