Not available here in Illinois, but my three kids all are in college in Michigan , where I can find it! I wish I bought more than a single 6 pack. I need to pick up a few more styles too…Cheers!

Thanks for the info -- I didn't know you could find it in Michigan. Duly noted.

Word of warning- I’ve only seen their beers in in Ann Arbor and it looks like they distribute around there and the western suburbs of Detroit.

Here is Salva Vida— the "Cerveca de Honduras." However, an interesting note in the fine print: "Brewed and canned for Cerveceria Hondurena, S.A. by Regal Brau, Monroe, WI."

Golden amber brew, darker than most AALs. Maltier, too. Slightly sweet and more like a Helles Lager. Modest tangy finish but no bitterness to speak of. Even a hint of caramel and roasted grain, but hops are pretty much a ghost. Overall this is a very satisfying brew with some malty body and a pleasing fizz on the tongue. Far better than the pale and watery Mexican AALs. F

This is one of those beers where the dum is greater than its individual parts, I thought this was terrific, 3F's Jinx Proof.

Had a "macro lager" from a centuries-old industrial brewery yesterday just, well, you know -- because.

Best by 12/2025. Doughy malts with higher spicy hops character than usual to-style (as seems to be the current trend in Germany); finishing with that tell-tale dryness from the Paulaner/Hacker-Pschorr yeast. $9 a 4-pack? Yes please.

Giving this Spaten Oktoberfest/Ur-Märzen some love

It's not showing any signs of being too old to my palate. It was packaged in early November, which I find interesting given that Oktoberfests apparently don't sell well after October.

Man, that is a good looking Dunkel. Von Trapp is not available here, but their reputation for quality beer is known.

I'd be just fine if Bud or Miller were supplanted by Paulaner Helles on my store shelves. That's a super bargain price too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all. I get to enjoy Spaten's O-fest a large portion of the year without it being terribly old.

I just think it's a bit odd that their production schedule is such that a batch of it is ready to be packaged right after the prime O-fest drinking season here in the US.

Sure, but I have to wonder how big that batch is compared to the April-bottled batch.

And we've discussed it before -- I'm definitely envious that you see this one so often. :beers:

Not actually a side-by-side. They are both good, and both improved substantially with warmth. The bloody Brie makes for a great pairing, spas the mushroom flavor compliments the toasted caramelized malts.
