How's it going man? It's 93° here today. Starting to get hot and it's been humid AF lately. The mosquitoes are getting brutal to. As much as I'd love to sit outside with a brew I'm not doing that today. Time to hit those pale German brews hard. Cheers!

...we old fucks tend to keep hydrated and lubricated with judiciously consumed low-ABV sports beverages beneath a shade tree...at least that's my regimen...

...I'm also a huge fan of occasional NA ice water beverages (generally filtered tap water on the rocks in a insulated Yeti for me)...

The best new local West Coast style IPA in town...Equal Parts Oarfish in the glass. They sold out in less than two weeks, hope they makes this again, soon, and a lot of it

I have been obsessed with this album lately. I have always really liked it, but just recently found a near perfect condition original Blue Note pressing. Bobby Hutcherson's Happenings.

    Sierra Nevada Summerfest (5.0%):
A pale summer lager from California with flavors of lemon zest, flower, pale malts. Crisp and clean. Lightly bitter.

First go at the 2025 version. Not sure if this is similar to their more recent version or the more original Czech Pils-style version. Nice to try on a scorching summer afternoon. This has nice lemon and floral notes. A crisp, bitter finish. Hoppy, yet crisp and lightly bitter. Actually does drink pretty on par for a Czech-style pils. Maybe I've gotten soft, but color me impressed at this year's version.

...thank you, kind sir...as a (technically) semi-professional photographer, I love experimenting with technology...but like any artistic endeavor (e.g., @LarryV and his music chops), the true artist knows that no amount of fancy-smancy artificial effects take the place of the core vision...

...hmmm...I'm thinking my Japanese single malt peated whiskey may be affecting my train of thought :sunglasses:...

Luckily this is a self pour charge by the ounce tap system, so I have other options available.

Made sense to me, Japanese single malt or not!! The subject was great and the artificial effects highlighted the subject. Nice work!

Love this album. My friend & I would always re-enact the cover when we were out drinking. I'll see if I can find a pic. Cheers!

...just watched an interesting Japanese flick the other night -- Perfect Days -- where the protagonist listens to old cassettes (e.g., Patti Smith 'Easter', Velvet Underground, Nina Simone)...fun to watch the modern Japanese youth look at wonder at this relatively ancient technology (and the prices offered by the record store for some of Hirayama's old cassettes is mind-blowing)...I still have cassettes from the 70s myself and actually have bought a few newly issued cassettes over the past year...while not a technology Luddite, I still have a soft-spot for 'the way things used to be'...

...anyway, it's difficult to beat the aural experience of good vinyl...good to know that you're not opposed to CDs / cassettes / or vinyl reissues, but I do understand the appeal of classic, original vinyl released (e.g., the Blue Note Re-Issue Series such as Andrew Hill's 'One For One')...
