What beer are you drinking now? #4707

Imagine my surprise when I was talking a walk in a farmland area and came across some wild hops just growing by the side of the road among some blackberry bushes and reaching well up into the trees. Really made my day, so cool to come across.



Sonnenhopfen, a Pale Ale from German brewery Gaffel (4.7%).

While I applaud Gaffel for broadening their spectrum, being the only traditional Kölsch brewery in Cologne to produce both a Wieß and Pale Ale, this one is pretty mediocre at the end of the day. I mean, it's nice enough, but just feels a little washed out and not really packing that hop punch that I expect from the style, being rather mild in tone.

 

I made a thread on it in the Off-Topic forum. Definitely a nice, kinda herbal and floral aroma to them, with a little bit of citrus.

...drinking a beer for @Shanex and his recovering knee...work at that rehab and you'll likely have a minimal scar like mine and hopefully get a flex of 120° or better (I believe mine is now between 130-135° when I do my yoga squat...regardless, give your physical therapy hell and, assuming the surgery was good, the rest is up to you to rehab yourself...

 

Some liquid encouragement to push through my last bit of work from home for the day.

Many thanks, Dave. Best I can do for now is bandaid and ice bag. First few nights were messy, painful and very uncomfortable that would be lying to tell you this is a painless surgery, but I’m through it. Now as you aptly say it’s up to me to go hard on rehab as I won’t regret the efforts I’m gonna put there.

...I can sound like a broken record about this stuff, but as no fan of discomfort let alone pain, there will be that, too, even during rehab, but hopefully your therapists have their heads on right and won't push you beyond what you're capable of...BTW: nice bandage...looks familiar (which I'm sure @russpowell can attest to, too)...
