    1) Toppling Goliath Citra Hop Drop (8.1% canned 10/29/2025): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Simcoe, and Krush for flavors of orange, citrus flower, berries, stonefruit, and tropical grape.
    versus
    2) Barrel Theory TDH Rain Drops (7.8% canned 11/5/2025): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra and Mosaic for flavors of orange, pineapple, grapefruit. Clean. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Happy Sunday Beer Advocates. Some great NFL games today. Now for a Toppling Goliath vs. Barrel Theory IPA Battle. First is Toppling Goliath Citra Hop Drop, a collab with Boulevard in KC. Great combo of hop flavors with some stonefruit and grape from the Simcoe and Krush.
Next is Barrel Theory, with a fresh release, now a triple dry-hopped version of their flagship Rain Drops. Beautiful pour. Mild on the aromas. Bright orange citrus and pineapple. It's bright, not overly sweet, and extremely clean. No hop burn, and not overly sweet. Incredible drinkability. Barrel Theory is on top of their game. This overtime KC-Indy game is pretty wild. Hoping KC pulls this off.
Winner: Toppling Goliath Citra Hop Drop

My family did not like Jake's on the Lake, but my meal was fine. You are drinking my "house beer". I always have it in the fridge and it is always fresh and excellent. I know it's associated with Vermont, but I am happy to live in the state where it is mass produced and distributed close to can date.
An SOS can is literally my Google Avatar. Sometimes akward in business Google Meet meetings but do I care?

Thanks, you’re very much right and words of wisdom. The world always was more or less a troubled place, it certainly isn’t getting better those days. Cheers.

    Another solid head-to-head battle @defunksta!
Please keep the battles with TG coming. Sadly, we lost our distributor for Toppling Goliath in St. Louis. :rage: Hoping this issue will be resolved soon.

Same brewery - very different beer. Overhead Krush. The O.G. Overhead is one of my all-time favorite DIPAs; I should drink it more. This variant is more tropical. Really good.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day for me. I've worked in Westfield, NJ since 1984. Tomorrow, we'll be in our new location in New Providence, NJ. I hope I remember and drive to the right office. Cheers!

Bruery Black Tuesday Blender's Choice 2025 BBA Imperial Stout, 19.9% ABV. Pours brownish black, with a half-finger beige head that left an oily sheen. Aroma is complex; bourbon, vanilla, moleasses, spice, dark fruit, faint chocolate, football leather, and grape. Taste is alcohol, rye spice, vanilla, leather, and light chocolate, slightly sweet, moderately bitter, oodles of alcohol/bourbon burn. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. The booziness is second only to Dystopias and Utopias.

    4.43/5 rDev -3.3%

I've rated this outstanding based on what it's touted as, but still on the fence whether I 'like' it. For sure, I'm glad I'm not having this reflux-bomb within four hours of bed-time. Love the complex and boozy aroma, but less excited about the flavor.

I haven't had that brew in 10 years. Used to get it when I was an OTR truck driver and doing runs in NC. Always enjoyed it and the lower ABV too. I'll look to revisit when I get up there at the end of the year on a family vacay. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Cheers dude:beers:

Taste and mouthfeel rule this beer. It is incredibly deep and complex in those departments. The label indicates 33 months of barrel aging (but no indication of what kind of barrels). Anyway, this is truly a big beer yet very drinkable.
