Old National is known for their hazies like M-43 and Boss Tweed, so I was surprised to see their 10th Anniversary beer was a Red IPA, a style I really enjoy.

This is a very good one, with lots of mango and ripe grapefruit flavors balanced by a substantial caramalt flavor. Absolutely love it.

Yes - I thought so as well!! Really well done - enhanced a bit but didn't lose sight of the original tune. I think Paul Carrack is a really underrated artist, he has an excellent voice. Cheers!!!

Here it is, the last installment of the Sierra Nevada IPA Roundup of 2025! Funny, I get into the IPA mood about this time each year. After a month and a half of Marzens, Oktoberfests and Festbiers, time to blow out the old cobwebs with a bunch of tasty IPA’s. Sierra Nevada is one of the main stops, naturally!

I really do appreciate when a brewer puts out those variety packs. It really gives you the opportunity to taste the full slate of a brewer's offerings. I mean, where else are you going to get FOUR different IPA’s from Sierra Nevada. Also a great way to get rid of the slow movers!

Electric Torpedo just can’t be that – Here’s another tasty Sierra Nevada West Coast IPA, 7.5% ABV which uses Bravo, Chinook, Citra, CTZ and Magnum hops. A great combo!

I was listening to some beer talk on the radio and was amused by some of the IPAs being run by various brewers. An industry heavyweight like Sierra Nevada is going to have a fantastic and reliable supply chain when brewing with these different hops in an IPA.

What was REALLY interesting to me was the difficulty smaller brewers have when producing their IPAs. All these hops become popular, hard to source, or fall victim to other economic or weather factors that might make any particular hop scarce in a brewing year. So the next question is, how the heck do you reliably brew a favorite IPA when there are shortages of various hops all over the place? It makes it a different IPA each time if there if something is missing or seasonably unavailable.

The novel approach that I liked was some of these IPA houses were brewing with a HUGE BLEND of like 20 or more hop varieties in their IPAs. This way, if any particular hop goes missing, it is buried within all the aroma and flavor of the other 19 shall we say. In other words, if some are missing, you can never tell! A great way to cover the nut the next time they are trying to brew a favorite IPA again and again!

Well enough IPA blathering, how’s today’s final brew? Tasty!
