it's solid. nothing life-changing. it's most certainly not a classic dubbel or tripel (or quad, if you want to use that terminology). unfortunately a little boozy - typically my favorite thing about the dark trappists is that they hide the alcohol exceptionally well. however, if the alcohol was gone, it'd be a bit too thin.

i'd drink it again, but won't seek it out again.

I can't decide which one looks better - the salad or the sandwich that someone took a dump on. Cheers to you both!

Enjoying a few HT at home this evening.

Picture is from last night at a brewing session with some friends. Besides the Chimay Speciale Cent Cinquante, we shared a Westy, and some oaked imperial stout & Belgian pale ale homebrews. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday night.

After a long and boring day at work, this tastes pretty damn good.

And I just learned that Ryan Young of Trampled By Turtles has a badass side project - go to 3:30 to hear an awesome Beatles cover:

No pictures because I still haven't figured out how to do it - started with a HUB Abominable Winter Ale and now sipping on a La Cumbre Elevated IPA - later a Founders Red Rye and then a Cigar City Oak Aged Jai Alai

Really like the Elevated IPA - what do others think of it?
