The only way I would have beer shipped to me would be if it came from out of state. Unfortunately, Minnesota outlawed this a number of years ago.
I did during the shutdown days of COVID from a local brewery I wanted to support that delivered themselves. Other than that, nope.
Twice, both times was for the SN BA Spiced Bigfoot. Shopping was free. If o had to pay shipping I would not. I have made a cart at a few places and when I saw shipping cost I deleted my cart. Enjoy
As I said in another thread, here in ass-backwards Kansas we can't get any alcohol delivered, thus my answer is never. But just as soon as the ****ed up republican controlled legislature gets their heads out of their asses (which will be never), then yes, yes I would consider having brews shipped to my home from out of state. Then again, considering ass-backwards Sasnak gave the country Carrie Nation, I won't be holding my breath, especially since it took until 1987 to loosen the liquor-by-the-drink-private-clubs laws and until 2005 to have Sunday liquor store sales, & then there's STILL some KS counties that are temperance-movement influenced.
I often have beer delivered. Many breweries offer on line ordering and I take full advantage of it. Especially breweries whose products I can’t find on shelves locally like Burial. Another relatively local brewery to me, Hidden River in Birdsboro, PA offers delivery for customers in state. They’re only about a half hour away from me, but their beers aren’t distributed.
In 2019, shipping of two bottles was $30, and the Westy 12's were $25/ea. I should have bought more to decrease the per bottle cost.
I've ordered from Half Time a couple of times. Last time I ordered, you got free shipping with $99.00+ I've also ordered from Craftshack, but their shipping rates are steep and they ask for a tip. Probably time to place another order with Half Time once the holidays are out of the way.
I'm in NY and I just ordered from B. United International and their selection is pretty amazing. I got about a dozen beers, and a beer glass and it was worth every penny. Shipping was fast, and an issue with an OOS beer was solved by a quick check-in via email. I wouldn't buy (regular) beer regularly like this, but as a treat to get access to some great European beers, it's perfect!
I do not but if my favorite local place offered it I would take advantage to save time. They make up probably 75% of all the beer I buy, if I could just restock while clicking a few buttons, yes I'd sign up for that.
I have not ordered beer for home delivery. I considered doing this to get Westvleteren 12 a few times but never followed through. In the past several years I have been picking up local-ish beers at nearby liquor stores, with purchases of regional brewers & imports from time to time. I also buy beers to take home at a few nearby brewery taprooms.
The B. United option sounds appealing. Sounds like a good option for imports, as they are getting hard to find in liquor stores.
It was worth the cost! I had mostly cans, a bottle, and a glass, and everything was wrapped great and arrived in perfect condition. Their selection is pretty stellar, and from the looks of it they're really preoccupied with quality control, so I'd feel secure in ordering from them and getting your needs met. This is my order; in case anyone is interested: Aecht Schlenkerla Helles Plank Heller Weizenbock St Georgenbrau Kellerbier Einbecker Mai-ur-bock OEC Coolship glass OEC Pils OEC Vienna Lager (originally ordered the Heliostar but they were OOS) OEC Anytime Lager OEC Fred's Roggenbier Einbecker Brauherren Pils
I have only ever done it while staying at Disney. One cigar city jai alai at the pool was $12, versus Drizly for 6 ~ same price = sold.
Not lately, but I used to. I'd occasionally order a box specialty beers from outside my market via Tavour. Once every few years I'd order a giant assortment of FL beers from Leukens in Tampa just because I knew they'd deliver anywhere. The thing is, there aren't many beers I can't buy or buy some equivalent of down the street. They might not all be rare and expensive, but I can find a killer version of almost anything within 30 minutes of my house. If I can't, there's a 95% chance online stores aren't going to have 'em, either.
