...kind of liked that one myself...plus, surprised to actually have seen it here along the Front Range...

    1) Sierra Nevada Springfest (6.0% canned 12/5/2025): An IPA from California with Centennial, Citra, and CTZ for flavors of lemon, citrus peel, pineapple, and floral notes.
    versus
    2) Sierra Nevada Celebration (6.8% canned 10/3/2025): An IPA from California with Cascade, Centennial, Chinook for flavors of soapy orange, pine resin, and a smooth caramel malt body. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Starting off the week with a Sierra Nevada IPA Battle. If seasonal creep isn't real enough, here is Springfest. a new release and my first try at this. Centennial and Citra. Some bright lemon, citrus peel and floral notes. Clean and bright as you'd expect. Nothing memorable but balanced and crushable, so it will probably sell well and already trending on BeerAdvocate. Yes, already a trending spring IPA canned three weeks prior to winter
Up against Celebration. Smooth caramel and resinous pine notes. Has lost a lot of bitterness now at the age, but still holding great flavors.
    Winner: Sierra Nevada Celebration

It's cool to see them having good distribution. I hope they haven't expanded too much for their own good.

Thanks - if you haven't already done so, check out the Riders on The Storm video I posted earlier. That was made for the Doors 60th anniversary and has John Densmore and Robbie Krieger playing with a global cast like the Santana video. I thought the Doors video was really cool and a great interpretation of the tune. Some good folks in it too, SIerra Ferrell, Don Was, Rami Jaffee (he does a great job channeling Ray Manzarek) from the Foo Fighters. I loved the The Red Cloud Drum Group near the beginning, those guys were really into it! Cheers!!!

...I don't know how the 3-tier distribution works in CO, but my favorite local (Coaltrain Fine Wine, Craft Beer & Spirits) do seem to acquire some very hard-to-find beers throughout the year (as well as some spiffy spirits -- e.g., Redemption's '18 Year Bourbon' and seem to have aline for many allocated items) and some nice high-end wines...

Agree, for whatever reasons it seemed appropriate.
As most I drank bud and Miller as a teenager then nothing for several years.
I remember my first -good- beer was an imported belgian but my second exposure to better beer was a porter. Fell in love immediately and as I think some favor them in winter I was always a year round fan.
Glad I was exposed to better beer unlike @TCgenny who I hear still drinks ripple and maddog strawberry wine

Anchor Steam Porter was my first in that style. Their Liberty Ale was a favorite back then. Started drinking Eddie Fitz in 1988.

And of course - Thunderbird wine, can't forget that one. A lot of folks seemed to get violent when they got soused off that stuff. 17.5% ABV

Can’t remember. I think it was some kind of apple crap. I also vaguely remember drinking a lot of something called Spanada. Can’t remember if that was the name of the winery or the wine. All I remember it cost $.99 a bottle which worked well with my college available spending money.
