What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4885

Oh man, I forgot all about that Peter Maliick album with Norah Jones. I listened to that CD a ton when it first came out.

 

Very strong taste of peaches. I impressed if you can do this with just hops.
I’m not sure I like this new category of hazy pale ale. To me, this is just a watered down hazy IPA.

 

1) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkel with flavors of brown bread, earthy Munich malt, bread and yeast.
versus
2) Ayinger Oktoberfest (5.8%): A German Marzen that has authentic German hop and malt flavors hops and spices atop toasty, bready caramel malts. (Mismatched the two blind)

Ayinger Lager Battle. First is their Dunkel. Dark malts, with a earthy and sweet tobacco and cocoa flavor. Outstanding and the best dark lager I've come across.
Next is their Marzen. One of the best Marzens. Very similar aromas and flavors actually. Slightly more orange and honey. Less earthy and tobacco notes, but similar sweetness and I mismatched them in the blind test. Both amazing, but this dunkel is perfect.
Winner: Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel

It's part of the spring season mixed 12 pack, if you can find it. The dark lager and kolsch style beer are very good as well.

 

I don't know where my CD of that went...its either in one of my two back rooms, piled too high with more books and music...or an old girlfriend has it (amicable split around 2008, she moved back to her family in Australia). Whenever I can't find a book or piece of music, those are the only two options ha.

 

Gonna be drinking a lot of Bock this weekend. 34th annual Bockfest is downtown this weekend. I'm starting now...

Having a Fiddlehead IPA after a long day of work ..



I normally work remotely but I had to go onsite today to cover an NBME (National Board Of Medical Examiners) exam which ran from 7:30 to 2:00. Basically there just in case any of the students have any problems with their computers. I had one issue the whole time which took me less than a minute to resolve so it was an unbelievably boring day, and then fighting the Worcester traffic afterwards.

 

@LarryV I've taken one too many of those GD NBME exams. Hope to never have to do another one again.
