Online Tasting: Orval Day (March 21, 2026) cross-post. Please join us in the thread. I started it, so I am nervous that I did not give it the proper introduction. The most Belgian experience I ever had was hanging out with the Belgian band Aborted in downtown Canada. They were very nice fellows. Only the founder of the band, Sven De Caluwe, from that particular lineup remains, but if they are all still in contact, I am sure they still frequently discuss hanging out with me that day in 2005.

Nice beer! Perhaps we'll see Celebration Ale on Sept 22...1st day of autumn. Ha! They are trippin' balls. It does make me wonder what color the sky is over that brewery.

A second short pour at Meyers Lighthouse: Brother Esau, WCIPA. It has all the right notes. Meyers is brewing some very good beer. Cheers!

I went to Brasil for 3 months right at the end of the rainy season. Not enuf time or space here to tell you about it...but it was fantastic. Nice of your amigo to bring some cervza de Brasil!

We had to drive past Ludlam Island Brewery on the way home so stopped in for a Ludlam’s half and half: Goats Go to Hell Helles + Guinness. It’s such a nice day - we’ll probably spend it reading on the deck. The Big Dance is dead to me now. Cheers!
