What beer are you drinking now? #4903

Monday workday in the books. Time for a Recursion IPA by Bottle Logic. I needed this. Cheers

 

1) Mortalis Campanula (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from NY with Nectaron, Simcoe, Cryo Pop for flavors of resinous nectarine, daiquiri, lime, and guava.
versus
2) Mortalis Zeus (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from NY with flavors of orange, lime, daiquiri, pineapple, mango skins. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Mortalis IPA Battle. Both are fairly fresh, but no dates. First is Campanula. Some resinous and stonefruit flavors from the Nectaron and Simcoe. Getting more tropical and smooth and less bitter as it ages a bit. Excellent and drinking fantastic on my last one of these.
Next is Zeus. A bit newer and not sure the hop bill here. A bit more lime, daquiri, strawberry, guava notes. The tropical notes comes through behind it. Excellent as Mortalis always is. Slight win to Campanula which I didn't see coming.
Winner: Mortalis Campanula

Goose Island BCBS 7yr Heaven Hill Double Barrel Imperial Stout 2025, 17.4% ABV. I rated this 4.61 way back in November. Still drinking real good, and so is the beer. Breaking out some matching glass. What's the occasion? I don't know, Iron Man 2 is on? Works for me.

Haven't had a Backwoods Bastard in quite awhile.

I'm thinking the fishing's gonna suck big time this year. We had a Pelican invasion about 10 years ago, they were here for a couple of weeks and ate almost everything, fishing sucked for two years.
