I love them both, but I think Jacobite is more susceptible to aging poorly. Fresher is certainly better of course, but that is also a hard road to find with these. Though if you get a fresher Jacobite, that coriander pops and gives a nice dry finish to help with the big sweetness. Otherwise, its just a little less impressive version of the House Ale...which doesn't really age "well" but has a better overall shelf life...if you get my drift ha.

This week's Saturday night Stout. Since we were in Paterson today to do genealogy, it seems appropriate to pop a 2024 Silk City. At 2 years' old it is superb with lots of dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, and char. Watching Arizona-Purdue. Cheers!

 

The one I tried was fine. Even delicious. It’s just not a flavor and textural combination I will seek when I want.a beer. More like a canned pina colada or daiquiri. Cheers.
