Obviously there's no lack of dingy warehouse breweries, the stereotype exists for a reason. Few questions for the BA braintrust: What are the breweries you've been to (or really want to go to) that have a great view to go with the beer? (PHOTOS!) Are you more likely to go to a brewery with average beer if the scenery is exceptional? Several notables I've been to that I think have a unique or exceptional view: Eppig Waterfront (San Diego) Faction (Bay Area) Kulturehaus (Pismo Beach) Amsterdam Brewhouse (Toronto) Draughtsmen Aleworks (Solvang, CA) Crux Fermentation Project (Bend) Augustiner-Keller (Munich) Jester King (Austin) Russian River (Windsor) Out of all of these, Faction might actually be the most unique as the patio looks out over the San Francisco Bay with minimal obstruction. Blue Mountain- I ran into my cousin that drinks Coors Light there, he said he just loves the view of the Blue Ridge in he distance Devil's Backbone Basecamp- A beautiful faux hunting lodge with the Blue Ridge in the background Church Brew Works- I don't know that there is a prettier indoors to have a beer in the US
No offense towards your choice of aesthetics, but both of these pictures look like the Mad Max universe to me.
For a different view of Mt. Hood, go across the river to White Salmon WA and get the view from Everybody's Brewing:
I haven’t tried posting photos yet, but… https://melvinbrewing.com/ Best view from a brewery I’ve experienced so far.
Excellent thread idea! While in Alaska in '98 I visited the Snow Goose Restaurant & Microbrewery in downtown Anchorage. I picked the place at random as I was wandering around looking for someplace to eat. I didn't know much about beer, but I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. I had a burger and a flight while taking in the magnificent view of the Cook Inlet. I think I might have taken some pics, but they're buried somewhere in my storage unit. I did score a couple of souvenirs: a logo pint glass (which I still have) and my flight card, which I kept to show our resident beer geek at work.
That view does look like the equivalent to Dockweiler Beach out here. Whole lotta nothing, but im Southern California we ARE spoiled
I was thinking the exact same thing. Also Dawn (Clann By The River) in Tokyo has an amazing patio by the Sumida River. Love their beers too. Very underrated.
I don't have a picture, but Breckenridge Brewery & Pub has a great view of the mountains, particularly from their rooftop patio, even though it's not on the edge of town. Really can't go anywhere in Breckenridge without a view. We went there on a summer vacation a few years ago, and I accidentally booked us into a hotel 100ft away from Breckenridge Brewery.
“Accidentally” he says. At least tell us it wasn’t named something like The Breckenridge Brewery Hotel.
It really was accidental, though my wife will never believe it. I knew the brewery was somewhere around that part of town but really just booked the first decent hotel that had a room. Broken Compass Brewing was nearby too. Found a great liquor store with lots of craft just up the street. Real nice summer vacation spot, plenty to do.
