...and somehow I forgot a Belgium Quad (which I hardly drink anymore because of availability) and ESB. I'm fired!

My ideal beer menu is whatever Tap 22 has on tap on Tuesday's, when all draft beers are $2 a pint. Here's a short list of some of those $2 offerings I've had, so I'll make them my ideal beer menu.

Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue Pale Ale
    Big Grove Easy Eddy IPA
    Bells Two Hearted IPA
    Cigar City Jai Alai IPA
    Columbus Bodhi IPA
Three Floyds Zombie Dust Pale Ale
Three Floyds Gumballhead Pale Wheat Ale
    SingleSpeed Zach's Mexican Donuts Stout
    Alaskan Double Black Cream Ale
    Stone Xocoveza Stout

How did every single person (read: fool!) forget black IPA/cascadian Dark Ale?

These are not specific to individual beers, but would rotate. Variety is the spice of life.

    1. Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale
    2. Helles, Kölsch, German Pils (Rotating bright, light, quaffable)
    3. Seasonal (Dunkel, marzen, Dark Lager, schwärzbier, bock, etc.)
    4.WC IPA (for @Resistance88 )
    5.True, real, NE IPA/DIPA (5.5-8.5%)
    6. Dark Mild
    7. Bitter RIS (for @Resistance88 )
    8. Straight BA stout (Single or DB, Bourbon or Rye, 12-20%)
    9. Rotating BA Scotch, BA Strong Ale
    10. Rotating Fun (Adjunct BA stouts, Different barrel use, etc., BA Barleywines)

This is one of the riffs off this thread that I've been thinking about as it goes on:

"What's the best draught menu you've ever seen in person?"

However, unless it's a recent one, these things are prone to misremembering and, dare I say, embellishment.

It was either that or "What's your favorite beer characteristic?"

FWIW, I'm leaning heavily towards the former. Could be an interesting thread.

I enjoy hops a great deal, just not so much when it's way out of balance.

Yes. Of that list I gave, only Pseudo Sue and Easy Eddy IPA are always on tap, the others have rotated in and out. Tap 22 has about 10 beers almost always available and the other 12 are rotating. I see you left a link to the thread of that very nature, I'll head there now.

I prefer just enough “clean” hops to keep the malt from being “sticky.” No aftertaste from either is impressive when they’re both balanced well.

Ok. A few of you added specific breweries and/or beers which I liked (separate thread?). Here is my list of breweries/beers:
    1. Sierra Nevada - Bigfoot (Note: Normally, I favor English style)
    2. Ballast Point - Victory at Sea
    3. Dogfish Head - Palo Santo Marron
    4. RIIP Krimson Killa - Red Ale
    5. Alesmith Wee Heavy
    6. FW - Parabola
    7. Clandestine - Triple Agent (Belgium Triple)
    8. Hair of the Dog - Matt and Stone - Double Bastard (Strong Ale)
    9. Cellarmaker - Hoppiness is Fleeting
    10. Wonderous Formulator - Doublebock
    11. Machine House Best Bitter - Cask
    12. Caldera - Vas Deferens Belgium Strong Dark Ale
    13. Deschutes - Not the Stoic
    14. Mad Fritz The Dog with a Clog - ESB

Obviously, the list is heavily western US influenced and isn't necessarily my favorite ever in the category, but takes into consideration my love of the brewery and support for them. Some of them are sentimental such as Double Bastard and Victory at Sea which got me started back into craft beer after the micro brew days of the 80/90s.

I personally couldn’t drink the best of whatever all the time because the best could be the best five ounce pour, with significantly more making the experience worse. Or the best could be the best one and done.

I chose the ten beers I like to drink the most of, either in volume or frequency. They’re not the “best,” just my favorites. :beers:

Love that bit. Nostalgia plays a BIG part in what I choose to drink. Not that I don't like drinking new things, but I'd rather have a beer that reminds me of something than taking a chance on a beer that will probably underwhelm me.
