It’s been a minute - or 15 years or so - since I’ve had this iconic beer. Its crushingly dry bitterness is hitting the spot after a long day in the salt mines. Absolutely love it.

Kirkland (Deschutes) 2025 Vintage Ale BBA Imperial Stout, 12% ABV. I rated this 4.13 last year. This is essentially Abyss junior, roastier and less complex.

With that can design, I would have never guessed that was anything from Sierra Nevada ha, but I will always want to drink a West Coast style from SN so I'll be looking for this

Hell Yeah! You always post some world class beers so hopefully that West Coaster is giving your tastebuds a nice little bitter "Joyride" too.

 

It’s not often that we get East-Coast Imperial IPAs washing up on these Southern California shores. Lucked out! There’s one over here!

Dogfish Head needs no introduction, they were one of the first and most innovative on the East Coast. Today, as part of Boston Beer Company, we’re seeing more and more of Dogfish Head on the West Coast, and it’s a good thing!

90 Minute Imperial IPA is a fantastic heavyweight IPA, featuring a 9% ABV – and really hiding it! Seriously, this IPA is so smooth you’d never guess it is a 9% brew, it seems more like a 6% brew. Either that or I’m experiencing a major issue – no, not ED… It’s AD! Alcohol Desensitization! Anyway, great head and EPIC lacing, so rare in a high-ABV IPA. There’s truly some brewing skills at play here.

Also high on the scale is the 90 IBU bitterness – again, this beer is so smooth, you just don’t detect it, seems more like 70 or so. I just don’t get it, these guys are really showing a lot of others out there how it’s done! As the locals might say…. It’s Wicked!

 

I always like your reviews, which are usually happily positive, and well informed.

 

This one at 9.5% with Citra & Mosaic and mango and pineapple will get me going proper. Cheers all and thanks @jzeilinger and @LongTaco15 for my 2nd favorite glass. Cheers all.
