...I occasionally still pay some good coin for high priced beers (e.g., Horus Aged Ales and some Anchorage beers), mostly just to see if they are worth it...bottom line: no (and, yes, I'm a slow learner :sunglasses:)...

...so many good beers by other breweries offering beers of similar quality to the high-falutin' priced folks but at a way lower price point...sure, I understand associated costs such as ingredients, time, etc., but it appears to me the overall value just ain't there...seriously makes me wonder if it's not so much a production cost thing as a marketing pricing thing...

...just like my experience with certain wines and whiskies (e.g., Kung Fu Girl Riesling wine or Wild Turkey 101), there are plenty of quality lower-priced beverages out there that I spend the majority of my hardly earned money on that offer a way better value than the big buck products...

...nice bourbon choice, Mike...I generally love the Beam small batch offerings...how do you like this Knob Creek variant...???...gotta be a fine antidote to that Coors Light...

I am not a bourbon expert. Not even close. My bourbon of choice was usually Maker’s Mark. Guy at the ABC store suggested Knob Creek as a step above. Damn good.

You are correct. The bourbon was the antidote needed for the Coors light and the other light beer. However, 6th Lord IPA held its own.

100% agree with you. The Tree That Owns itself was not worth $14. It is definately a NM marketing pricing thing.

Have a good evening. I had a good nap in the afternoon because I was tired. Only have a little bit left of the Simon Sebag Montefiore book left. Next up is The Immortal Game by David Shenk which is the history of Chess.

Chuck has been feeling neglected with all the kittens around, but I love all my cats mostly the same. Even though Frankie hates me for whatever reason. He lays in bed with me during book sessions

We went to Walmart for some bread and got 3 12 packs of beer. I found a 3/20/2026 12 pack of Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing in the fridge. They were sold out of a lot of stuff today. Great hazy IPA as always. Big Citra, Comet, Simcoe, El Dorado, and Mosaic juiciness with a balanced biscuit malt backbone. Light-medium piney drying bitterness. Nicely soft and smooth drinking.

Cheers and good evening, BAs! Been so under the weather that I left work early (so ... an 11 hour day ... but still early). That gave me enough buffer to cook dinner this evening. So, a couple of New England IIPAs (cuttin' it up) with prep:
