There's a bus from Portland to Astoria? Very cool to know. I'm filing that away for future planning purposes.
Thanks! I could see myself making use of it for a targeted day trip from Portland, providing I find a safe spot to leave my "red barchetta." Speaking of Rush, there's supposedly a similar, rather no-frills bus running between Spokane and Seattle. I might make use of it to meet my brother in Seattle when we go see Rush in October.
Are these city bus type buses? 3 hours back from Astoria after a few beers is a tall order without a bathroom on the bus.
It's more like the FlixBus, a touring bus with comfortable seats, WiFi, room for carry-on luggage above the seats, and a bathroom at the back.
FlixBus drops you near Uwajimaya, a couple blocks from the stadiums. Then woemad could take the 1 bus to Climate Pledge Arena, which is where I assume Rush are performing in Seattle.
@DefenCorps and @vurt, thanks for the info! Gas prices being what they are, I'm not sure when I'll venture to "war-torn" (if you watch certain channels) Portland, but I'm hoping to before too much longer. In addition to traveling to see Rush, I'm going to have to drive to Olympia this next weekend for a funeral/wake, and may be dipping down to the Tri-Cities afterwards to pick up a bicycle, so that makes a dent in the future trip fund (although I'm theoretically going to be able to crash at my brother's house rather than have to spring for a hotel room at least).
Returning to the thread title, today is Bend Brews & Beyond, the spiritual successor to the Bend Brewfest. Held at Drake Park along Mirror Pond, the fest boasts every local brewery (something the previous event producers stopped caring about as it grew larger) and in a sign of the times an NA tent and hempgarten. I’m working until 7, but the fest goes until 9 and I’m going to head over to join the late night contingent. I want these events in my town and try to support each of them.
