Another Birra as I smoke some meat.

 

I keep going back to this beer. I'm going to have to get more of it.

 

I had some minor surgery a few days ago. Recovery has been easy. The only problem is that the surgeon said no golf for six weeks, and no amount of begging and pleading has changed her mind. I see her for follow-up in a week, and I'll try again to get permission. Of course I will abide with what she says.

 

Second beer of the evening is this French Weissbier. Very solid and enjoyable affair, amazing scent, flavor is slightly muted by comparison by still quite enjoyable, coriander, orange peel, etc.

Good morning BAdvocates. Taking a quick break and downing my second Alaskan Brewing “Excursion” WC-IPA. Even sweeter than it was the other day. Cedar shingles and artificial burnt orange aren’t my favorite flavors, but it’s still an ok beer.

Very HHHazyyy from Tree House now. Out of all the flagship beers Haze might just be my favorite. Very Hazy was great enough, and now this Very HHHazyyy even amplifies that with huge juicy dank hop notes. I'm picking up flavors of blackberry, ripe mango, papaya, guava, passionfruit, pineapple, grapefruit, orange citrus, light toasty caramelized bready malts, and dank earthy herbal resinous floral pine. Super tasty DIPA. Cheers everyone!

 

Third beer of the night (9:30 pm if you can believe it from the daylight through the window) and it’s finally below 80 F! Another French beer despite the German theming once again. While all these Rambler beers were super cheap and worth the 0.60€ price, this one is even less notable than the other one. Super plain, very mild hop bitterness & a pinch of caramel flavor but otherwise not much different tasting than any macrobrew lager, despite the apparent adherence to German brewing laws.
It’s aight. Crushable if nothing else.

 

Had a very long meeting and now I’m out at Tacet Brewing, enjoying their hefeweizen, and reading the Hungarian mystery I’ve slowly been plugging away at. It’s a lovely night in Budapest!
