I will say that I have voiced my gripes here and previously about shangy's. My gripes were with freshness and poor in store service that have resulted in me never going back. Nor will I ever go back based on those experiences. But at least it is welcome news that somoe of the freshness issues seem to have been dealt with so that others won't have the same results that I did. But from this point on, I won't state my gripes any longer. All you can ask for is an attempt to rectify, and that sounds like it has been done.

I don't think you get to call anyone a bullshitter or a coward when you continue to make accusations, and then dodge any line of questioning when challenged. For the record, I am not in the beer industry.

So, how did you handle it when the check bounced?

Nima, would like to share any thoughts on how it happened that PA ended up not getting any of the Westvleteren XII we were allocated?

    1. This tread is about Bell's Hopslam.
    2. Westvleteren is not a registered brand in the Commonwealth of PA.
    3. Westvleteren can not be sold in PA beer distribs. due to the way they were packed for the U.S.
    4. Call the importer.

    1. Why would I discuss that with you? Why would I share any account information with anyone?
    2. I repeat, this tread is about Bell's Hopslam.

Funny how you keep changing topics?

Question for Nima or Philly longtimers - with Bella Vista not getting any Hopslam this year (as per their twitter), how will this affect Philly distribution? I assume the other distributors will get it, but will this dramatically decrease the amount we see in stores? Obviously Hawthornes is now SOL. Presumably Beer Heaven, Foodery, etc will still get allocations through other channels though?

Asking you to back up an assertion, and then watching you continue to refuse ISN'T dodging? That doesn't make a lick of sense. If it was "pointless" why did you feel you needed to respond?

    1. This is all tied into you and your handling of beer and the craft beer community.
    2. Isn't that the responsibility of the wholesaler? That reminds me, doesn't Shangy's hold the distribution rights to the brand when it being sold via the grey market here a number of years ago?
    3. So, there wasn't an option to break it down into cases?
    4. About what?

    1. Because it impacts everyone.
    2. See my previous post on this.

That is pretty lame that Bella Vista is getting none. Global has a list (if any is left after they send to the foodery) and Bell Beverage has a lotto. I have a feeling its going to be tough to get in the city. Go buy yourself some fresh Nugget Nectar or Double Jack, save yourself the headaches of tracking down hopslam.

    No, No, and No.

    1. "You and your handling of beer and the craft community"...if it wasnt for Shangy's, 40-50% of the craft beers the PA beer community drinks, would not be in PA today.

    2. Only breweries or importers can register a brand of beer in PA.

    3. "Breaking down cases" is illegal in PA for both "D"-Distributors (Case stores) and "I.D" Wholesalers. We can not change or alter the way a package was received.

    4. Call the importer as they are 100% responsible for all brand registrations in PA.

Sorry, but all Hopslam drafts are going to the top bars and restaurants in our territory.

We agree! However, numbers never lie. Sell more bells, get more Hopslam.

okay, that's pretty much what i meant. i just want to be able to enjoy some on tap in philly, i don't really care which distributor or wholesaler brings it to the bar/restaurant.
