OP was referring to a convo that took place at fobab, which was november 17th, so unless there were multiple bottling dates for bramble...

ah, missed that part. that's still pretty close to a year though, no need to get pedantic. it's not like the difference between 340 and 365 (or 366) days of aging is super huge, even at suboptimal temps.

I agree, I was just trying to keep up with the overcritical analysis of everything that is said on this forum.

had this on tap at fischmans tonight. everyone that says it's way more chocolatey and less boozy than regular bcbs is not exaggerating; it's exactly what i thought the second that glass met lips. i saw a bartender carrying a tub of ice cream and dishing out scoops to people. if i were ever to try to make a beer float from bcbs, it would be from baudoinia. really delicious and worth seeking out.

I will get a chance to try this on Friday at a Goose Island tap takeover. For those who have tried it, how does it differ from regular BCBS?

Sounds like more chocolatey and less boozy per the two opinions above. Any others?

I was checking beer menu for the 2 goose island pubs, and they don't have baudoinia on tap anymore? I was gonna go this saturday and was looking forward to this one.

Hah. I was thinking the same thing watching it.

You'd be drunk too if you were "tasting" Bourbon County all day.

Local option had it on Wednesday Night. This beer is just fantastic. Whats great about it is that you don't get all of the heat that you get with BCBS. Also, it has a whole lot sweeter taste to it. Almost reminds me of a BCBS with some age on it. Very tasty

That's not true at all. I tasted over twenty different barrels of eclipse and most were very very smooth. Yes, you got the oak flavor, and a 10% plus beer is always going to have a little bit of alcohol heat, but event he ones that had been in the barrel for over a year weren't that hot. If anything, past a certain point, the alcohol seemed to start to mellow out and the flavors seemed to congeal a bit. The barrel character appeared sharpest at about 4-6 months.
