Which makes you wonder why you find it necessary to preface your recommendation with that point.

Not being a dick, just a thought to think about when things get too serious

^ this... one of the best tasting beers you can get if you like full flavored hoppy beers!

I see what you mean. No harm, no foul, man. My apology comment was meant to be fairly sarcastic. All this talk about it regarding extract is sort of what I was looking for from folks.

It's pretty good, but can't stand up to basically any DIPA from Hill Farmstead, Lawsons or Alchemist. It's what I can get from the local beer store when we run out of "the really good stuff". It's on the same level as Firestone and some of the other "clear" double ipas.

With that said, I like Hop Stoopid quite a bit. I don't drink it as much as I used to, but nevertheless, it was one of the first IIPAs I truly fell in love with. World Class.

Well, with that said, I will thank you for your input. I feel like we've really turned a corner here.

At least once a month for the last few years I grab one out of the cooler at the local liquor store. You know what? I'm going to go get one right now. Thanks gwdavis.

The only thing with Lagunitas year-around IPAs is, how do I know how fresh the bottle are?

I picked up a bomber of this the other day for $4.99. I liked it a lot. A good amount of pine in it, so if you're not a fan of that then be aware. I liked Sucks better.

lagunitas just started distributing here in the past couple of months and the maximus and hop stoopid bottles we are getting are already well past their prime. bummer.

have found myself still enjoying lil sumpin wild a lot though even with a few months on it. different, but real nice still.

It is my fervent hope that they brew this out of the new Chicago brewhouse and that the local shops are lined with FRESH bottles of this. Fresh Hop Stoopid and fresh Maximus are all I need to make my hop dreams come true. I don't need fancy, exotic, overpriced, or hard to obtain. This stuff is good enough and at its price-point.....I'm done!

Best DIPA bomber for the price first off. 4.79 here in NC. I saw it is compared to Pliny above. That is insane. It doesn't even come close to such as Ruination, Palate Wrecker, Hopslam, or any other top DIPAs out there. And Pliny blows those away. It is good, not great, so DRINK it! It's on the price level of dfh 90 min, but much better.

Yes the beers from Vermont are better, but dogging Lagunitas and Firestone isn't cool. Excellent year round DIPA's and when I see them fres, I purchase often. I don't have to drive to Vermont and hope they didn't run out yet.

The best value for the dollar if you're talking strictly year round DIPA bomber pkging. $3.99 makes it an easy choice.

i stopped buying it because of no bottle dating. it is great fresh, but can be a year old and you'd never know.

Definitely not dogging these brews, it's just what I buy from "Barbs" or "Bert's" (you must hit these if from NH) when I run out of Heady T's, Abner, Double Galaxy(recently), Society & Solitude #4 & #5(sometimes),Hopzilla, Kiwi(not my fav but still way better),Double Sunshine(almost never). Even some of the single Ipas and pale ales including Susan, Edward,Riwaka Fist-full-o and Triple play are deeper than any Lagunitas offering. I'm only saying that hop stoopid and even l-sucks can't mess with the above mentioned. It is definitely one of the best cheap "craftish" bombers we can get in NH for sure. The Dogfish we get must be old because the 90s taste boozy and aren't fun to drink.

I noticed that last night, as well. After reading a much earlier post in this thread about the dating being on the neck, I checked and saw nothing. I did call the bottle shop I got it from, and they assured me the bottle wasn't more than a week old when I bought it last week. Still, no excuse in not having the date listed on the bottle.

Lagunitas does bottle date. It can be a little tough to find but look for a long number printed around the neck of the bottle. This is the Julian code. There are a few threads about it that go into more detail I believe. Try holding the bottle up to the light to help locate it
