I love Cascade, but they are taking it too far.

I'll just have to get a pint at the barrel house and call it a day. In the end, I should really be thanking them, because their inflated prices are saving me money.

I'm referring to the actually rare (and good) stuff that gets made here and still don't even go $4$ with mid-west shelf-wales.

Not a HotD fan? Seriously? They make some of the best beers in the world. Adam is the pinnacle of an amazing year round beer that ages in a manner that is superior to most beers...barrel aged or not.

That's actually not what I meant, although I suppose it comes across that way. Was more referring to Cascade flogging their beers as "extremely limited" when they have hundreds of cases. (Although, to be fair, HOTD's bottle counts are also a lot higher than Upright, Commons, and Breakside.) Yes, there's hype around HOTD (and somewhat around Cascade, although far less than a couple years ago), but much of the best beer being produced in Oregon today has hardly any awareness outside the local area.

    This sounds oddly familiar...

Everyone knows I'd like ANY hype for WA beers lol.

You are correct. The other is just a Portland suburb.
They import their rare beer from Cascade.

ugh i hate tilquin and love rueuze. they're VERY different. tilquin is super cheesy and rueuze is citrus-sour-lemon gueuze done american style.

The real point here is that one Cascade is hardly more limited or unique than the other--they are all brutally similar, produced in damn-near the same manner beer after beer. Even if the blending or aging is described as unique or particularly complex, the end result consistently tastes like another beer they've already produced. There is practically no value for me in all of the beers they release.
