Sorry gang. I'll try to right the wrong I did and buy ALL THE BOTTLES and hoard them in my basement. Would that make everyone feel better? Then I could secretly release them and only tell one person!

Now back to the original question: thoughts on blueberries.

Actually it was posted in the Michigan Beer Guide first. That's how we all found out last month (we being the S.K.R.P.S aka Secret Kuhnhenns Release Party Society).

Do you folks from the greater Detroit area know any spare juggalos that would be interested in a fruitful business proposition?

Blueberry taste varries alot depending on if they are irrigated. Last year was not a good year in Michigan for regular rain, so hopefully they used irrigated blueberries. Last year was such a bust for Michigan fruit.

Dark Horse uses blueberries and think that's turned out nice.

I prefer to be called a juggalo, not a mule.

I need to speak with the Kuhnhenn's about their releases.
They aren't very friendly to accountants who have to live through Busy season and work on Saturdays.
You'd think they would be more understanding as one of their cousins works with me.

Time to post: "Will do Personal 1040 for Eisbock." in the trading forum.

I'm also curious about the bottle format: 6 oz vs 375 ml. My guard would be 15 bucks a bottle for the 6 oz, and 20-25 for the 375 ml.

Also, considering the tenacious cassis and desirable mead releases, I'm also expecting a 2 bottle limit or something ridiculously low.

I hope this isn't a free for all like banana French toast last year. That would be terrible.

I thought I was told that the price last time the raspberry was released was $25 for the 187 ml.

If this is correct, then you add in that it is likely to be be in 375s and their other releases saw about a 15% price increase from last year, you are looking at approximately $57.50 per 375ml bottle. That's not going to happen but $30-35 might not be out of the question.

Incorrect. KRE has traditionally been in the $13 range. I think the most recent release was either the 2010 Winter or Summer Solstice with a limit of 6 at $13/bottle.

Ok, I guess I got bad info. That still puts it around $30 when you factor in the potential size increase and raise in prices.

Seriously? I thought this was vetoed at last weeks meeting and we were going with A.M.W.A.Y. (All for Michigan Why Alert You)?

Hmmm shit copyright issues? Ah well, we can talk about this at the next meeting.

I'm not sure how Bell's relates to this but you do make a valid point. You also have to remember that Bell's started out in the mid 80s so I would say they are far more established as a brewery compared to Kuhnhenn, plus they produce at a much higher level. I am not sure about the history of Kuhnhenn so I cannot comment on why they would want to advertise a release. All I was saying is I can't blame them for trying to expose a new beer, even at a whopping 3 weeks before the release.
