The first to blow my mind was Duvel, I know it's not cool, but I love Belgian golden ales.

The first thing that comes to mind is Jolly Pumpkin Bier De Mars. I still remember the first time I had it and the first sip simply amazed me.

Well, it was a reeeeeeally long time ago (fall of 1982) but I still remember it like it was yesterday; I picked up what looked like a special beer for a special occasion (and it definitely had a special price). It turns out that it was Aass Bock, and the first sip totally floored me- so rich, malty, almost chocolatey- like my favorite beers squared. Maybe any true Bock would've done it, but this was definitely the right beer at the right time; and it subsequently became the first beer that I would actively search for after that moment.

+1 - Avery Mephistopheles Stout. Elegant perfection. I will never, ever forget the one time I had the opportunity to try it.
