Zombie Dust

Hoping to make my first visit over to the land of 3 floyds for dark lord day. Hoping to be in the nirvanal state that you're in. Dark Lord, Zombie Dust, Dreadnaught, Gumball, so many to try!

 

Looks as if I just completed a trade for ZD. Safe to say I'm pretty ecstatic!

Closest thing I've tasted to ZD is Citra Ninja, nearly identical juicy citra notes, just massively different malt bills.

 

Yeah it was the greatest thing ever when I finally got my hands on it. But now living 20 minutes from 3Fs the novelty has worn off. I think 3Fs has a number of better beers than ZD, not that anyone thinking ZD is the greatest thing ever is wrong.

 

I guess you have to drink a beer a "few hundred" times to decide you don't like it.

 

Never heard of citra ninja before but you've peaked my interest. Maybe you and me should start hyping that beer until everyone glombs onto it and then we can drink our ZD in peace.

 

It's gotten plenty of hype, it's just a timed release and when it's gone, it's gone. It's the #1 best new beer of 2012, from the #1 best new brewery in the world, Pipeworks.

 

I wouldn't compare sucks and ZD, they are way different. I hosted a DIPA tasting two weeks ago with Sucks, Hopslam, Double Jack, Pliny, Hopmouth, Arctic Panzer, and Palate Wrecker...

Sucks and Hopslam were rated the top and very close, followed by Double Jack then Pliny.

ZD just doesn't have the same body to it as the DIPA's and for good reason, its not a DIPA, but you can drink more than 1 or 2 ZD at a time, plus for Three Floyd's its relatively inexpensive..

If you want a Three Floyd's beer to compare with Sucks you should try Dreadnaught, it's one of their most balanced beers and its the same style.

 

Dreadnaught is one of my favorite beers and I really like APW as well. Usually if I can find one or the other i will grab at least one. With that being said we got ZD down here in KY a few weeks ago and it exceeded the hype. It is one of the best beers I have had, and then I had Rye Da Tiger. I think I like it more than ZD

 

this beer was great before it was called zombie, before it had a label, and fff shit has always been scarce. get your shit right, its about the beer, not your alleged marketing.

 

i love it every bit a much as the first batch of cenotaph...i really dont get why people think its in demand because of zombies...fucking ridiculous

 

those kegs didnt kick as fast because not as many people knew about it/not as much hype.

Definitely a fantastic beer worthy of its accolades.

 

i searched beer menus for the availability of three floyds near jersey, philly, nyc...im coming up dry on all fronts...does the east coast really get the stick with certain beers or am i just getting unlucky? lol i really wanna try some of their stuff
