Barrel Aged Bigfoot in Texas

I can confirm that this is starting to trickle out in Houston. Sorry to say that if you don't know someone its going to be hard to track down.

 

Have you seen it anywhere in particular?

 

Spoke to a rep from the distributor.

 

Unfortunately those guys know absolutely nothing about their beer until its loaded on the truck. These distributors work like little terrorist cells or drug cartels as far as information is concerned. The underlings are either given no info or bad info until the last possible second.

 

Well that's a first... I've never been told "make sure no one sees this" when buying a beer.

 

Specs didn't even get any in, so it will be hard to get unless you know someone but it has landed in Houston.

 

Spec's is receiving 4 cases, and there will be a few other accounts with single cases starting tomorrow. HEB Bunker, Whole Foods, etc...

 

Definitely have to know someone. All of them were spoken for by regulars from the case I got mine from.

HEB bunker, buffalo, montrose, central market got a case. Specs got 4.

Saucers got 2 a peice, BRC, hay merchant, Rockwell tavern got 1. 1 other but can't remember, only got 16 cases for the greater Houston area.

We might have been there around the same time. The Ben E Keith dude? I thought about asking him but since I saw the Fern talk about late this month I didn't. Picked up a Funk Metal though so I'm good.

 

Er, no, Specs midtown said it came in Monday and was gone within an hour.

 

Really? I went to Midtown Spec's on Monday at lunch and was told it was coming and they didn't know when. I also called twice yesterday and was told they hadn't gotten it yet.

The misinformation around this beer in Houston is driving me crazy.

 

Does this mean Hay Merchant is selling it? I was there yesterday and nothing about it was mentioned to me.

 

Glad I got my 4 bottles elsewhere, dang beer in TX is just getting impossible to get for those who don't drive for hours mid day. First Dissident and Abyss, now this.

 

It's looking like Monday. I was hoping for Friday , but it seems to be a couple of days after I post when, is when stuff shows up.

 

I just called again and asked if they had it. Was told no. I asked if they got it earlier this week and he told me they haven't gotten any yet.
