I guess I will be content with having tried it already. I bought a bottle of 09 CC when I was at CBC in San Diego last year. Split it among my group of 4 and poured a glass for a guy at the bar who said the 09 was the best year. About 30 minutes later he returned the favor when he bought a 10. Both were delicious. I'm heading to CBC in DC in a few weeks so maybe a DC bar will have something equally as cool on the menu.

It was released in 2009 and it is amongst the best wild ales and even sours that I have ever had, brewery only, with a far smaller bottle count than Rare and it was $35.

    I traded a 2012 Cable Car for a 2009 Black Tuesday

    I traded a DDG+Fou Foune for a 1996 Alexander Rodenbach

to echo what Sean said earlier, I dont think you are in the realm of DDG/CC, it is not as bad as someone offering up say Stone Kona QM for Kaggen, but it's just different title divisions of cetacean expeditions.

Excellent, just had one on Saturday. One of the best American wilds I've had.

Bottles I've had more recently haven't been as good as when i had it around the time of it's release. Some people will still say it's incredible. I personally dont care for it anymore so there's where you get your mixed reviews.

Except for those of us who can head to one of the Toronado locations and buy a bottle (assuming they have them).

I've had Rare several times, and I'm really over stouts at this point.

Well yeah, if you bought Rare on the shelf at one point in time. To me, I looked at my Rares like a $50 bill.

What's weird to me is that DDG has seemed to take on so much extra value in the last couple years. I know it's been a few years since it was released, but when it first came out, it was fairly easy to trade for. CC on the other hand has always been a tough trade. Especially with 2010 and the Kriek not being technically released for to-go purchase.

Not saying that DDG isn't a great beer, I have just been surprised to see it jump into the realm of CC and IP so effortlessly.

I think their website says it is released every three years. Shouldn't this be released again soon?

I split a bottle of Cable Car with 2 other guys at Lost Abbey in early January (was brought up from Toronado, on-premise consumption only). I can say without hesitation it was worth the $55 we paid for it (I chipped in $20 and got a full pour plus the dregs of the bottle afterwards, which I happily consumed).

Why wouldn't it be in the same realm? Isabelle was a 12 limit and DDG was only 6.
