The vagueness of these posts is infuriating. Could anyone post an actual lead on where to find it in Houston?

So far all I know FOR SURE is that HEB Bunker Hill got it and sold out, and Brandon at D&Q said he wasn't getting it.

I got it at Bunker Hill, but he had his 1 case allocated out so didnt want to send anyone on a wild goose chase.

FYI, Some of those who answer the phone there don't know squat.

Tuesday, I emailed Justin, who is THE beer guy at Specs', and got this reply:

    'Bill-
We received a very limited amount of BA Bigfoot. It came in Monday and out within an hour. Sorry sir.'

There's so much completely wrong information in this thread that I think we've set a new record. Nothing like a rare beer in Texas to conjure up the grade-A BS from assorted reps and "contacts"!

Is this something they're going to do again next year (with more volume hopefully)? I'd love to score a few to lay down along with my Bigfoot collection, but I was only able to lock in one this time around.

I read somewhere that they will expand barrel offerings in 2014 when Ashville is up and running but right now they don't have the room to do so.

BTW: this was your prep for BBA Narwhal, if that makes it here.

    Bill Manley was quoted saying:
Therefore I'm hoping to land about four bottles here in Houston. I have some Pumpkinator and a few bottles of OG Wytchmaker for trade to land this literal whale.

I'd rather drink a Bud Chelada than an OG Wytchmaker at this point. Bleck!

I'd almost say the same thing about a fresh Farmhouse Wytchmaker as well. Lol

Just left the Specs in Dallas, they have 10 bottles left, one per...

    Hope that helps!

Some friends were just @ Spec's Midtown, raised a stink about it, & 1 bottle miraculously appeared from the back. The "last one". Speaks for itself.

I understand it's a limited beer and they probably didn't get very much of it, but why are they holding it in the back and lying to people when they ask for it instead of selling it?

Maybe one of the beer guys has a regular in mind that is out of town? It sad that someone has to raise hell over a beer.

I would imagine they were holding it for a particular customer that supports the store week in and week out instead of just dropping by for special releases, and instead a bunch of entitled people got a hold of it.

Anyone have this years yet, or is it suggested to sit for awhile?

It's good to go as soon as you get it. Amazing! Keep in mind, it's already been aged 2 years I believe

Did not know that it was aged already. I haven't actually seen the bottle yet. I guess I'll be cracking mine in the next few weeks then. Thanks

I talked to a beer guy there today and he said it is all gone.

Our Bigfoot Barleywine is a craft beer legend. Each winter, this beast of a beer appears and wreaks havoc on unsuspecting palates with its intense bittersweet flavors. This year—in honor of the 30th Anniversary of this style-bending brew— we’re releasing a very special version of this cult classic: Aged in oak whiskey casks for nearly two years, this barrel-aged Bigfoot is incredibly complex. The assault of resinous hops has mellowed, and the influence of the wood has shifted focus toward the malt—with rich burnt-sugar flavors and notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, and raisins. Grab this elusive beast while you can, because it won’t be around for long.
