To learn more about beer, I read BA reviews for about 4 or 5 years. Thanks for all your opinions !
But, I always considered beer a personal matter.
And now, here I am... telling my life story, at least as it relates to ale.
I chose my name with some irony. I am hardly a Beginner at drinking beer. (I have been drinking craft beers since the 1980s and studying them for the last twenty.) Typically, I will buy beers if they are on a list. The most helpful reviews come from books. I probably am too anal in reading the reviews, writing my tasting notes and checking them off. (I probably will reference these books in reviews.)
For the record, here are three key books.
"1001 Beers To Drink Before You Die" (I just reached the half-way point... for the beers, that is.)
"Michael Jackson's Great Beers of Belgium" is also half-drunk.
Continuing my classical education, I am focussing on the 9th edition of Michael Jackson's "Pocket Guide To Beer" with over 2,000 beers tasted in the previous century.
I find this site fun...
