Archaeologist, trail runner, lover.
In the past few years I've lived in Syracuse, NY, Gainesville, FL, Farmington, ME, Hayfork, CA, and now Joshua Tree, CA. And I've spent plenty of time traveling back and forth between the Northeast (NY, VT, NH, ME), Southeast (FL, GA, NC), Mid-Atlantic (VA, DC, MD), and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
"Favorite Beer Style" is a bad question. I'm up for whatever is innovative and well-executed. There are a handful of things that peak my interest in a brewery, too: clear mastery of brewing fundamentals, proprietary yeast and/or bugs, and a commitment to best business practices, local/regional agriculture, and of course—hops.
I like saisons (esp. the funky ones), (D)IPAs (esp. the northeast sort), and wild ales (esp. when dry-hopped). Always appreciate a good, thick stout, a nice pilsner, and the proper handling of wheat malts. In the end, I like my hops Pacific and raw, my (D)IPAs hazy and heady, my saisons dry and funky, and stouts dark and thick, and sour beers tart and hoppy.
Breweries of perpetual admiration: Ommegang, Grimm, Jester King, Tired Hands, Allagash.
