I drink beer on both ends of the spectrum without much "micro" judgment. Beer is not in the same realm as wine. It has its complexities where it can be enjoyed and analyzed pretty thoroughly, but let's be honest, it's definitely a simpler drink where sometimes you can say "gimme a beer" and knock back a few. Dirt cheap PBR and Rolling Rock hit the spot when they're ice cold on a scorching hot day. But a nice stout to sip or micro craft brew are just as, if not more, enjoyable. Of course there are bad beers out there, but if it's drinkable, and has some special/redeeming quality to it, why not give it a shot and give it a rating so the people know what to expect? Enjoy all beers, but more and more, I'm being exposed to local brews that are definitely holding their weight. Support your local brewery, tip your bartender, cheers.
