As douchey as it is to tattle on another beer festival, I'm having a hard time feeling sympathy for anyone involved. Maybe skim over the local liquor laws before holding a beer festival, yeah? The festival could have handled the vouchers better as well.

Indeed it did happen a week or two ago, but still newsworthy and not touched upon here...the nexus for the craft beer cyber world.

It's a PR blow to craft beer in Chicago and IL when two of the largest fests taking place at prominent downtown locations prove to be both incompetent and petty.

There's nothing wrong with being passionate about something you love. And what better place to rant about the corruption and indecency of event companies trying to throw beer fests than here?

And, if anything, it was an entertaining read...

Yep; bored enough to tell you I'm not bored enough to read you self-described "entertaining read."

It's time for the "Happy Hour Law" to be changed or revoked. That or legalize marijuana in the state. They can't take both away from us!

It was for 12,000 people. They had already held 2 fests with unlimited samples, so I'm sure they just assumed they could continue to do so.

Those who showed up at the fest received 2 voucher cards = 40 samples total. More than enough.

The Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison, WI is unlimited samples, too, and that's a near-zero-incident fest, if at all.

Hahaha! Was that a 10-peso burn, bro? Why you comin' at me, bro? Don't assume, bro...'cause what happens when you ASS-U-ME? But it would be more the "U" part of that one. We might have to have a BRO DOWN!

Love it how people would rather attempt to make fun of me than discuss the matter I posted about. So what if it was long?! No one can read nowadays? You don't subscribe to any magazines with actual articles in them? Just the T&A mags? No one has a passion for anything? Or has ever felt strongly about something? Unreal.

Perhaps the error here is expecting an "event company" to put craft beer and its enthusiasts first rather than, you know, focusing on beating the competition to make money. The most worthwhile events in Chicago have always been run by brewers, craft beer bars & stores, the ICBG and CBS. For just a moment, stop and think about why that is.

so that negative rant had nothing to do with Founders or Three Floyds?

Another person who doesn't know how to read! What is this world coming to?

It was negative sure, and rightfully so. Hopefully also enlightening and makes you a more aware beer consumer.
