Galaxy and Citra don't taste similar.

I disagree. I think Permanent Funeral is an amped up ZD for sure. Awesome beer. They need to make it on the regular rotation. It is a crime more people have not tasted it.

Amped... Up... as in, it's super thick and INCREDIBLY pungent and strong, which is the exact opposite of ZD (an easy-drinking, balanced, citrusy nom -nom festival in your mouth). But yeah, I guess. Good point.

Agreed. It's ridiculously good and drinkable. It just shot up to #86/250

I can get ZD and I opt to drive to Chicago and get Daisy Cutter instead. If I am at FFF I rather get GumballHead

true, but if you're a fan of Citra, you're most likely a fan of galaxy.

+1 on this ^ I bought a case of ZD at DLD, and made it a point to get out to Odd Sides very quickly to get a fresh bottle of their Citra for comparison. Had the wife pour it while I was not looking. :grimacing: I picked Odd Sides over ZD!!! It's not like I'm new to ZD either, I have had cases of it before... I was stunned... Michigan brew only though.

Zombie Dust is damn good. I guess I'd go for Sculpin if I could pick another?

Good thing I have access to NEBCo. and their "Fuzzy Baby Ducks".
Zombie rarely enters my mind w/access to that bad boy.

As someone else said already, def. not a replacement, but Victory Headwaters is a tasty Citra brew.

    Cheers

Common guys. This is getting ridiculous. Why do we continuously post threads about who has the best single hopped citra? Some are good. Some are bad. ALL are different. I appreciate constructive comparisons of similar beers, but can't we put petty dick measuring aside?

I always felt like Little Sumpin Sumpin was a close beer that is much easier to find.

If you can't get ZD chances are you can't get Toppling Goliath. pretty sure the entire purpose of this thread was to suggest something similar to ZD that was easier to get.

No offense or anything, but ZD and Sumpin' taste almost nothing alike.

I've always thought Brew Kettle's White Rajah is similar to ZD, and finally Rajah has become fairly easy to find in Ohio.
