I love that flavor in Adam as well, and have yet to find it in another brew. I think it comes largely from the peat smoked malt, which is rare in beers. Although it is not traditional, many American brewers use peat smoked malts in Scotch ales (eg Great Divide Claymore). I haven't gotten a leather flavor from these beers, but you might want to give them a go.

Dark Horse Aigre Plead the 5th is crazy leathery. Something about how the sour comes together with the stout

Smoked Malts, funky yeast, and generous amounts of hops. Let it age and wow...

I've also noticed Aventinus Eisbock shares similar qualities with HOTD Adam.

I think hair of the dog is most likely the best example, and allen sprints actually most likely the best brewer out there. his beers just take all the flavors im looking for, swirl them around and BOOOOOM!! tastes like barrel leather prune fig juice... RIght up in your dome!

vintage, aged MoaS has that quality, circa 2008 or so...once the heat dies down. Of course, it was labeled Perfect Storm back then, but the same beer...

definitely Pannepot, but in a good way. It's maybe the closest thing to Adam I can think of, yet it's still totally different and delicious.

Le Coq Imperial Stout (if it's still around...). Man, that one used to hit me with big-time saddle leather right away.

I most often get leather notes in Flemish reds. Avery Oud Floris and HaandBryggeriet Haandbakk (take that spell check!) come to mind as recent examples.

I remember Matt having a leather, smoky flavor. Which doesn't sound appealing to me, but it was awesome.
