And of course we all need some humor for the end of the week. Let's go back to 1984...

    A little cheer:

And still one of my favorites!

    Cheers!

It's pretty malty so I'm guessing no.

Warm sunny day in PA calls for shades and a smooth Indiana gem.

More of Aaron's stash. FYI - to anyone I ever traded with, Aaron Robards was the one. The one who funded me. He didn't want anyone to know, but now that he died, it doesn't matter anymore. I only wanted to say that so that anyone who traded with me will know it was him and not me.

Great Divide has quickly established themselves as a top-tier brewery - I'd put 'em right there with Stone and Founders, for example :grimacing:. Yep. Every beer of theirs I've had has been exceptional.

Their 19th Anniversary Ale is no exception.

Bitter hop crispness, delicate malt body, and strong wood flavors - they used birch wood aging and also infused birch syrup into the brew. I was leery of the syrup addition, as I didn't want a syrupy-sweet beer - but no worries! The sweetness is subtle, the wood prominent, and the craftsmanship top-notch.

Reminded me of some English ales I've had from Fuller's (1845 and Vintage Ale leap to mind) as well as the Oaked Arrogant Bastard (albeit less bastardly ).

    A real hard-drinkin ale.

    Went right for the Zep.
Excuse the indulgence, but this this some seriously good shit (the beer and the music...:grinning:).

Rock out and drink on, my brothers and sisters!

The Wife and I enjoying some Cajun Chicken and a few Anchor Liberty Ales.... her 1st time experiencing a craft brew of any sorts, and she loves it. This of course makes me happy.

    Cheers!

Just escorted my tasting pal out the door. Warmed things up with In The Name of Suffering, then went straight for tonight's main event.

Note to the world: strawberries pair amazingly well with Black Tuesday.

After work I thought it was necessary to grab some beers so I made my way from the office in Southfield to Ashley's in downtown Ann Arbor. Here I find Founders Double Trouble on tap as well as Stone Espresso Imperial Stout. This is my first time trying the Espresso Stout and I'm very impressed. Well done, Stone.

And Sucks is half the price. I bought a bomber of Hop Stoopid, just to try it once, a few weeks ago. Nod goes to Sucks, all day long.
