Just saw this posted today on facebook by Alan Sprints:

"Are you ready for a release? How about three. Friday, May 10th is Fred Eckhardts birthday and we will release Fred from the Wood 2013 and Bourbon Fred from the Wood 2013 in bottles. Carbonation is great in FFtW, $12 a bottle & $240 a case, and lacking in BFFtW, $7 a bottle & $140 a case. We are also very Proud to announce the yearly release of Lila. A draft only lager Brewed on her birthday, February third, and released Mothers Day weekend. I may jump on a train tomorrow morning after work. Graveyard to train ride plus nap for some HoTD goodies. Sounds fun.

Bummer of a weekend when so many of us have plans - Mother's Day and all that.
I'll be working the OBF if not down to PDX sooner. If someone wants to help me out with an IP trade, let me know.
PS. I'm going to DC in June. Might be able to bring back some East Coast goodies.

Cut and pasted from a beermail conversation (22 minutes old):

Not crowded at all. 150 cases released for sale by Alan. Maybe 30-40 sold.

It was pretty calm there at 3:30. Didn't seem like they were running out, but I didn't ask because they all looked grumpy.

Their horrible service in the tasting room never ceases to amaze me. I saw this dude (guy with an accent that waits tables) get rude with a customer when he had to go grab another shirt for the customer. The waiter clearly misunderstood what the patron said (even though he was clear as day) and then cops an attitude because he was the one mistaken.

Don't get me wrong, I picked up some bottles, but I've never dined in there after I argued with that same guy for being incompetent.

    Alright, I'm done.

Never have had a problem at the tasting room, but I guess I never sit anywhere but the bar when I'm there. Always have Wendy waiting on me, and have always had good service.

What is up with this brewery and carbonation issues? Most of their beer taste amazing but I've boycotted buying any HotD bottles (unless at the tasting room) because I have been burned way too many times.

Well damn... guess I wont be going to the tasting room either. lol

Yeah, when I would frequent there and sit at the bar, service was ok most of the time. Maybe I'm just sensitive because I work customer service and retail and have to talk to my people about the same stuff I have seen there (i.e. ignoring customers or having a bad attitude ). I was totally going to give them another chance today, as I was already there, but decided against it when it was seriously apparent that it had been a busy day. I'd rather eat and drink at a place where my server is actually friendly...on second thought, you don't even have to be friendly, just smile a little bit. Life can't be that bad when you're bringing in over $20,000 in one day (Obviously the servers aren't getting a cut, but still).

Well, don't fret, now he states right up front which one has carbonation, and discounted the one that doesn't have carbonation. Nifty huh?

The Bourbon Fred is not completely flat. It's certainly low carbonation but when I poured one I bought a few hours ago there was a small head and bubbles floating upwards the whole time. Gives me hope for the future. Not nearly the same as some Lost Abbey and previous HotD releases IMO.

They were busy and maybe had some staffing issues but customer service seemed fine to me today, as it always has been. Compared to other major releases today was a breeze.
