    Really wanted a bourbon beer and couldn't decide so went with a bourbon barley homebrew instead. Heavy on the oak and bourbon, next batch 'will double the boil time to caramelize the wort to bring out more toffee/caramel flavor and dial back the bourbon and oak (will probably hop it more too). The beauty of homebrewing - trial and error - but still enjoying this!

    Tonight so far:

    Still good, but quite old. Got in a trade as a random a couple weeks ago. Ive had this fresh, so I know what it's supposed to be.

    Re-reviewing a few that I felt were bad bottles/old the first time around. I was right on both accounts.

    Great deep roasted malt complexity with moderate yeast fruity/spicy notes. Delicious

    Younger spiced beers are always the way to go. I had this one last time with almost 2 years on it. This was bottled last season and it is full of spice flavor this time around. Totally awesome.

    I wish I could pop bottles like this for me and my chick. I probably wouldn't have half the cellar I do if that were the case but still, consider yourself a lucky man...
