Victory makes some solid suds. The Headwaters Pale Ale is an excellent, full of flavor beer with less then 6% alcohol, so one can have a few without getting too "sleepy" (unlike some of my favorites, ie Green Flash Palate Wrecker, Stone Ruination).

 

Sipping on a 2011 Old Stock while soaking in a nice hot bath. Now this is the way to unwind!

 

Fridge cleaning continues.

 

It turned a bit chilly here in PA so I am enjoying a Ballast Point Sea Monster Imperial Stout. Smooth and warming.

DC Brau has landed in RVA! This'll be first time trying a beer from this particular brewery.



Upon a close inspection, I was looking for a bottling date on the can but couldn't find anything. However, I saw this stamp with the date of "05/03/13". Perhaps, it was bottled on that date! How fresh can you get??? :-). Wishful thinking on my part.

 

Doing a bit of grilling and pulling a BCBS out of the cellar. This brew always blows me away!

 

Just enjoying the tail end of a large glass of Sixpoint's Harbinger that I got a howler of this afternoon. It's quite good.

I can verify that that is the canning date :-) I got a couple sixers of OTWOA a few weeks ago the first time it was canned, and I rememver seeing on the fbook that it was canned the day before, and sure enough that little sticker bore the equivalent date (like "031713" or something like that). So, yes, that is fresh as shit.

 

Then, I need to be there. But I'd like to make it up there before then. I also need to get down to Portsmouth to Smuttynose.

So goddamn good. Makes me want to move to Iowa...wait, no it doesn't. I'll just keep trading.

 

Ok, this is going to get messy, folks... It's my 30th birthday, so I've been cutting loose today. The theme: try new beers. The culprits: my parents and my husband. My parents bought me a mix-a-six of beers I've never had before. The hubby let me pick my own mix-a-six, and he got me a Magic Hat sampler, and he took me out for drinks. My cellar's nearly doubled in size over the past two days... Anyway, here's my day so far:



Then Duck-Rabbit barley wine on tap:



Then Franziskaner on tap:



Then Green Flash West Coast IPA on tap:



Then Elk Creek Porter on tap:



Then back home for a Full Pint White Lightning:



And lots and lots of water so I don't feel my age come morning.......

 

JACKPOT!!! It sure tastes like it too. Talk about a hop-blast beer...
