Now onto a fantastic Russian stout. Midnight suns Moscow

It's soo darn good.

 

Made a pilgrimage to Ale Asylum. I took some of the love home with me in the form of a growler:

While there I had Bedlam, which is my favorite of their offering. Thou Bedlam was a whole different level fresh and on tap, I elected to bring home their oatmeal stout, Big Slick Stout (BSS), as it is a brewery only release. I don't think I'd have been disappointed either way, but I'll say this, BSS may be the best oatmeal I've ever hard!!!

Prost to the guys at Ale Asylum, thou next time how about a AHA discount . . . just kidding their beer is good enough to not sweat the small stuff.

 

My last one bottled 4/17, decided to share with a strictly Bud drinking friend.

He likes it, I think. Cheers.

Last four or five Saturday nights included a trip to Rip Current, and this week was no different. Started off with a Lupulin Lust which I swear is every bit as good as a PtE, and then had a Wee Heavy from their Pilot batch, 10% abv. Nice beer, but I haven't had many Scottish Ales, but it seemed very "to style."

 

Tonight's reviews:

Nice pale ale. Well balanced, easy going, and drinkable.


Plastic corks still fucking suck. Other than that this was pretty solid with some good complexities, lack of any carbonation dropped this down in rating pretty hard; though oxidation was minimal. Fuck De Proef for bottling this. "best by March 2014" yea sure.


Breaking in some new glassware I got in the mail today with a bunch of beer. Great stuff as expected.


New brewery in MI this month, I am thoroughly impressed with this. Really great BSPA with nice hop flavor as well. Totally delicious.

Just got back from a holiday weekend barbecue / campfire kinda thing which was pretty fun. Had some 'Gansett Lager, Smuttynose Finestkind, friend's homebrewed winter ale, and Brooklyn Summer. All some lovely Northeastern brews.

 

Russian River's take on a Belgian Single, Oh yeah!

 

How is the age? I have one. Longer, open now.

 

This is a damn good IPA. A good amout of tangerine and pine.
Wish this was something that was easily accesible for me.

2013. Booze-bomb. Tasty! Forgot how potent this was, prolly shouldn't have opened it tonight but what the heck. It's delicious and who knows, I could die tomorrow.
